Warriors’ Softball Falls in Region Play-In Series

The Ridgewater softball team wrapped up its season over the weekend after competing in the MCAC Play-In Series on Saturday and Sunday in Brainerd, MN. Entering as the No. 3 seed from the South Division, the Warriors matched up with the North's top seed, Central Lakes Community College.

Ridgewater opened the best-of-three series with an exciting 7–6 victory, battling past the Raiders to take the early advantage. However, Central Lakes responded quickly in Game 2, defeating the Warriors 16–0 to even the series heading into Sunday's decisive matchup.

In the winner-take-all Game 3, Ridgewater jumped out to a 1–0 lead after the first inning. The Raiders answered with two runs in the third and another in the fifth to go ahead 3–1. The Warriors pushed across a run in the seventh to cut the deficit to one, but their comeback fell just short in a 3–2 loss.

With the series defeat, Ridgewater closed the season with a 9–14 overall record and a 7–9 mark in MCAC conference play.

The Warriors were led by sophomore standout Nevaeh Rahm, who pitched in all 23 games this season. Rahm finished the year with 133 strikeouts and also contributed at the plate with a .357 batting average and two home runs.
